It's in a place where Holy Mass is held outside of the Marilao Shrine (Bulacan), nearest to the main altar of the church. Masile Sunrise

People would sometimes ask me what makes a very rested happy man when I go to work every Monday. I'd just smile and say I was just home doing nothing. Actually, that's true. Every morning, after perhaps writing some entries in my blogs, I go out of the house, get a nice chair and just stare at the dark skies until the sun peeps on the horizon.

This is most special, though, when we're spending our weekends in Masile Island, Malolos City, home to my beloved In-Laws. At around 5 to 6 o'clock in the morning, alone, I'd go to the riverside, get a nice chair and just witness with awe the wonders of the sun rising against the river's calmness, while the sky unravels it's natural blue behind the drifting clouds. This amazing sight washes away all worries and stress brought by the past week, recharges the soul that's beaten by work.

And before I knew it, my mind, body and soul are ready for another week of reality's beatings. -AdeL

McQueen

Luke got this big McQueen toy last Christmas. He got it as a gift from his Ninong Lyle (from the US), sent thru door-to-door. T'was a dream come true for the kid, specially then when "Cars" was still his favorite movie. T'was mine, too. So imagine Dad and son doing turns to play with the red happy car. :) -AdeL

Pamarawan's Sunset

This was taken January 22, 2007 at exactly 5:51pm. I took a quick shot while walking down Pamarawan's paved road during the Sto. Niño feast parade where Luke took part dressed like little Jesus. I've never seen sunset as beautiful as that, and good thing I had Jerome's Canon with me during that time. -AdeL

For Starters...

It all started with this picture. I never thought people would notice that I have a knack for taking shots. They say I do, but I think I have a lot to learn about it. I know lots of people who are really good at it. And looking at their galleries never fails to amaze me.

This pic, which was 50% photoshopped for that nice divine effect, of course, won first prize in a certain contest in the office last year. I'm proud of it, because I was able to capture what I was really looking for, back then. We were asked to take a picture of who we are represented by something or someone else. My son, of course, is the perfect representation of me when I was a kid. Of course, I'm expecting for him to grow a better man than I am.

Nowadays, people have easy access to capturing those, to use the Filipino term, "kodak" moments. We have cameras on cellphones, cheap digital point-and-shoot cameras, video cams, and so on and so fort that were already costly high-end technology if we go back five to ten years in the past.

But while people are busy taking pictures of what's exciting, interesting and nice on the foreground, Archie, Jerome and I always take time to capture those that are beautiful yet unnoticed most of the times. We've got a lot of these pictures already stored in our old PC's hard drive. Today, I figured- "Sayang naman if we just throw them away if there's a need to defrag and clean the system." Thus... this blog.

This blog is also a reminder of our newly realized dream of owning a Canon EOS one day. For now, we'd have to make the best out of our phonecams and point-and-shoots, and faith to what professional photographers always say- "Wala sa camera yan... nasa kumukuha yan." (with a state-of-the-art camera hanging on your neck? Yeah right.) ;-p - AdeL
